Apple Turnovers

Pre-cook them and take them to work with you as a fab snack with a cuppa! Also suitable for freezing

Nutritional value for 2 turnovers.


1 cooking apple

1 wholemeal wrap*

1 whole egg

0.25 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp sweetner

1 tbsp water


1. Preheat oven 200°C (fan 180°C/gas mark 6).
2. Peel and chop the cooking apples into small pieces in a microwave bowl.
3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sweetener.
4. Add tbsp. water, cover with cling film and place on high in the microwave for 3 minutes.
5. Take the wrap and cut it down the middle.
6. Place 90g of the cooked apple on one half of each of the cut wraps (don’t go too close to the edges).
7. Brush the exposed parts of the wrap with a beaten egg.
8. Fold each half.
9. Crimp the edges using the back of a fork to enclose the apples.
10. Place the 2 parcels on a baking tray sprayed with a little frylight or rub down with olive oil or grease proof paper can be used.
11. Brush the edge with a beaten egg.
12. Sprinkle with a little sweetener and place in the oven 10 mins or until golden brown.
