How to Get Motivated to Exercise

How to get motivated to exercise?

Sometimes we need to get motivated to exercise.  For me, there is no a better motivator than having a workout buddy, somebody that can help bring the best out in you and even hold you accountable.  Think about it, you’re tired after a long day of work, you could very easily wrap up in front of the fire and skip your walk. But if you have a workout buddy and you have agreed a time to meet it is not quite as easy to skip it and let them down. Partnered workouts are a great way to push yourself, makes that workout or walk less boring and you can encourage each other to work harder and see great results.

Ask yourself these questions: have you ever had a workout buddy? How were your sessions? Did you feel more motivated and worked harder when with a partner?

How to get Motivated to exercise

If you have answered yes to the above questions then you will understand the benefits of having a training buddy. Isn’t it about time you get back into this habit, get one of your mates and get back at it.

Walking is great, running, weights sessions, swimming. Pretty much most activities can be done with a partner. The challenge is to find something that both of you can do and enjoy. Walking is a fantastic choice, most people can do it, it’s low impact, great for mental health and is very sociable. You can walk, have a laugh and burn loads of calories whilst doing it…..win, win, win!

Up for a Challenge?

Get yourself a training buddy and set yourselves a target to both hit 10,000 steps every single day for 1 month. Hold each other accountable, motivate each other if you don’t get out on a given day text each other a picture of your step count.  Give this great and very easy challenge a go, you won’t regret it and it will give you fresh impetus as you strive for results
